Meeting details
We’re starting off 2008 with another “DC-Area Exclusive Event.” Adobe certified trainer, NYC IDUG chapter rep, designer, and now author Scott Citron will present Newsletters Needn’t Be Boring, which is based on a chapter from his new Adobe Press book, Professional Design Techniques with Adobe Creative Suite 3.
In this lively demonstration, Scott will teach you how to take the lowly newsletter and create a handsome and handy publication that's guaranteed to be read. Along the way, you'll learn how to work smartly with InDesign styles, the zen of baseline grids, using Illustrator's amazing Live Color feature, creating 3D charts in Illustrator, working with tables in InDesign, and how to create interactive forms in InDesign and Acrobat.
If you produce publications of any length, this is an event you can’t afford to miss.
And, now, here’s what’s really special. Scott’s book is being released on January 7th, the day before our meeting. We have ordered copies that our members can purchase for 40% OFF the list price (cheaper than Amazon) and, time permitting, Scott will autograph the book for you. Quantities are limited. First Come, First Served. Go to http://tinyurl.com/33lgaw to check out this book on Amazon.
You can go to www.dc-id.org/scott to order the book. For those attending the meeting, the books will be available at the registration desk. For those who cannot make the meeting, but would like to purchase the book at this substantial discount, you may opt to have the book shipped to you for an additional cost.
The Answer Desk “The Answer Desk” was a big hit at the last meeting and is now a regular feature of the DC-Area InDesign User Group. During the refreshment hour, “The Answer Desk” will be staffed by professional trainers provided by EEI Communications and our own membership. Bring your InDesign questions to these folks and get an answer while chewing on a slice of pizza. This is a perfect time to ask those questions you don’t want to bring up before a group. Challenge them! Bring it on!! They’re ready for you.
Of course, there will be plenty of food and drink before the meeting starts.
=========== Agenda ============ 6:00pm: Refreshments (pizza, drinks and more) 7:00pm: Meeting 9:00pm: Adjourn
