Tue, June 12, 2012 - Wed, June 13, 2012
U.S. Navy Memorial Auditorium
Event DetailsAbout 90 people braved the nasty weather to hear two outstanding presenters—one for the first time and the other a perennial favorite.
The first hour was spent networking and eating. A vote was taken as to whether people preferred the thin crust we had that night or the thick crust we’ve had the last two times, all from Papa John’s. Unfortunately, the vote was almost exactly evenly split with “thick” receiving one more vote than “thin.” So, chances are we’ll have some of each next time.
Our first presenter was Steve Drucker, president and founder of Fig Leaf Software. He provided a clear and precise explanation of what’s new in Acrobat X. There was a lot of emphasis on digital publications and 508 compliancy. Steve’s presentation (PDF available for download), seguéd nicely to Noha Edell’s update on Adobe’s new features for digital publishing. New file formats, new tools and new ways to do things. People were impressed and amazed.

Steve's presentation was very informative. And he ran it on a PC — Yea!
This is my first event, and I loved the presentation — very informative.
A stupendously entertaining & informative presentation on the ins and outs of Acrobat X.
Steve Drucker gave a clear, concise, organized, informative presentation. I am now ready for Acrobat X.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16 featuring Tom Piwowar. The title of his presentation is “Using InDesign CS5 to Produce Interactive Documents.” Tom’s presentation is a continuation of this year’s apparent theme of getting more than just printed documents from InDesign.
