Accessible Content Workflow with Adobe InDesign CS4 & Adobe Acrobat 9 featuring Greg Pisocky & Victoria Richards Can everybody who needs to have access your documents do so? The production of accessible digital documents and electronic books is increasingly important to large and small publishers. Government agencies and contractors are often required to make their documents accessible to people with disabilities. Adobe provides tools to help designers and publishers create and distribute electronic documents and books that are accessible. This session will focus on best practices for the production of accessible PDF documents using Adobe InDesign CS4 as the authoring tool in conjunction with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. The presentation will provide an overview of an accessible content production workflow, discussing both the strengths and limitations of the tools and the techniques. Objectives of presentation and benefits for the audience • Attendees will obtain an overview of accessible electronic document design considerations • Attendees will learn best practice techniques for authoring accessible PDF files using Adobe InDesign CS4 • Attendees will learn where to find more resources and information We have two experienced practitioners and proponents of accessible documents: Victoria "Vicky" Richards Vicky has worked as a graphic artist for various State and Federal agencies in a diversity of disciplines related to design and print. Using InDesign since its introduction, her knowledge and proficiency has evolved exponentially with every new version. She currently works in the Communications Department of the Social Security Administration, creating accessible publications for the Web in 16 languages. Greg Pisocky Greg is a member of Adobe's accessibility team focusing on techniques authors can use in Adobe tools for developing accessible content for those with disabilities. Greg has presented his workflows at numerous accessibility related conferences. He also provides assistance and advice to organizations seeking to fulfill accessibility compliance requirements. PRIZE DRAWING As usual, we will conclude the evening with a drawing for lots of great prizes, including a copy of InDesign CS4.
