Event Details

Wow!! I’m still exhausted just thinking about everything Julieanne Kost covered and the energy level she exhibited. If we could only convert that energy to electricity, we could eliminate at least three coal-fired generating plants.

What amazed many people was that just about everyone learned something. Since most of the nearly 200 attendees were primarily InDesign users, the level of Photoshop expertise was all over the place. Yet, whether you were a novice or an expert, you learned.

And, as we always say, even if you can’t remember how Julieanne did something, you at least know that it can be done. With that knowledge, you can figure out how to do it.

We had a lot of new members, probably because of the meeting content. We hope everyone will continue to join us at our meetings—there’s always something of value.

A few people found the material coming at them too fast and perhaps a little over their heads. Many people commented on the great explanation of “smart objects.” I don’t think anyone left empty-handed.

Julieanne shared with us her informative website (www.jkost.com) where she showcases her work as well as makes available valuable information about the software that she uses to those who were unable to attend or need a refresher after attending such an intense training session. Please enjoy!

Our meeting began with the usual delicious repast of pizza, fruit, cookies, and drinks. Folks chatted with old friends and new acquaintances. After an hour of that, we moved into the auditorium for Julieanne’s presentation. This was, of course, followed by a raffle of many prizes including copies of InDesign AND Photoshop. Other prizes were courtesy of Copy General, MacMedics, Shutterstock and Adobe. If you know of any business that would like to provide raffle prizes in return for recognition, please have them contact me (Ken Chaletzky, ken@copygeneral.com ).

Thank you

Thanks to Pizza Man, Jim Gormley, who has returned to his proper role as pizza procuror. His expertise was missed.

We appreciate the support of our sponsors, MacMedics and Shutterstock.

I seldom remember to mention Laura d'All and all the folks at Copy General who make it easy for me to stand up in front of all of you.

Comments from attendees

Holy Cow! I learned a ton of things about features I use, but were using wrong or not taking advantage of features that are poorly documented.

It was just fantastic! Highly informative and super interesting.

This was my first event. The venue was great – easy to see and hear Julieanne. …Not having much experience with Photoshop, I learned a lot of great skills and tips that I can now use at work and in my free time.

My brain is full!

I won’t say “Great” or “interesting” or “amazing.” I’ll just say WOW! I knew I had a lot to learn about Photoshop, but Julieanne is an inspiration!

Absolutely phenomenal. Makes me want to be a graphic designer.

Photoshop CS4 was intimidating to me…now I want to dig deeper. Thanks.

This presentation was an inspiration for a beginning Photoshop user because it’s hard to discover these neat tricks on my own or from a book…

Julieanne is better than excellent.

I never would have found these tools on my own.

Amazing presentation! Learned dozens of time-saving and creative features. Will visit www.jkost.com for more! Coverage of “smart objects” was particularly useful.

Fast paced, but easy to understand. Lots of information. Excellent delivery. Julieanne is a dynamo!

What a fantastic demo of Photoshop and Bridge!

Exhausting, in a good way. Will be going to Julieanne’s site for downloads.

Now I wish I could abandon text and work with images all day long!

I thought I was getting to all the features in Photoshop, but now I know that I’ve barely cracked the surface.
