Event Details

This meeting was online only and we were able to join in to The Adobe Creative Suite User Group- San Jose meeting via Acrobat Connect. Sally Cox and Steve Dolan were hosting, and the Keynote speaker was Pariah Burke, author of "Mastering InDesign CS5 for Print Design and Production".

The focus was on InDesign CS5:
• Proper image formats for print
• CMYK vs. RGB workflow
• Exporting to PDF for printing
• Preflighting your documents
• Bleed vs. Slug
• Online collaboration with CS Review
• Tips for creating print-ready InDesign documents that stay on budget

Of the 40 Vancouver IDUG members who joined in to the online webinar, 3 won copies of Pariah Burke's book "Mastering InDesign CS5". Another Vancouver IDUG member won a free pass to Pariah's 2-day online workshop on e-publishing, and another member won a copy of InDesign CS5.

Next Meeting

The theatre at the Vancouver Film School is booked for Tuesday May 31st for the evening. Same time as usual. 6:30pm to 9pm.

I don't know if there will be a refreshments table. I'd like to find a different business, to sponsor different meetings. For example, last meeting Extensis (http://www.extensis.com), makers of Suitcase Fusion, Portfolio and WebINK, sponsored the snacks. I'd like to pursue these type of companies to sponsor future meetings.
