The need for flexibility in design is more important now than ever. With so many online services running in conjunction with print, the ability to repurpose materials from media to another, extract database information into layout templates, and publish to more than one medium with ease is crucial to enhance product offerings and increase productivity.
XML is fast becoming an industry standard to aid in cross media exchange of information. In fact, most of us reap the rewards of this everyday without even realizing it! The more we understand XML, the better we can appreciate its full potential – both as a standalone product as well as within InDesign. This meeting will explore the world of XML, offering a brief introduction to the technology, a look at how XML is used within InDesign, and offer some examples of cross media publication using InDesign and XML.
