Monday, June 5 marked the second 2006 meeting of the Tampa Bay InDesign® user group. Over 55 members and 34 potential members packed the atrium at the Art Institute of Tampa.

Matt Kloskowski of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals was the first presenter. Matt's demo covered the finer points of using Photoshop® CS2. Matt covered the proper technique of adjusting photos using the LED mode and channels. He also showed the group how to convert images to smart objects and how easy it is to replace photos using smart objects. Finally, Matt ended his presentation with the photo warping and straightening tool.

In the second half of the evening, Sarah Schweiger, of Sarah Schweiger Creative Design Services, showed how to place text and graphics into simple one-page documents. She also touched on text wrapping, fitting files to content, and text frame options. The presentation included a take-home sheet of tips learned at the Adobe InDesign Conference held in Chicago on May 15-18.

Based on the feedback we received, many of you would like to see future presentations that include:

Best practices for printing
Font management
Interactive PDFs
Tips and tricks (advanced and basic)
Long documents
InCopy®
