The third Sydney chapter meeting was held on 29 September at the Kirribilli Club, Lavender Bay.

Steve Nichols from Lasers Edge opened the evening by demonstrating powerful typography controls and features of InDesign. Steve impressed the audience by showing InDesign's OpenType® support and nested styles feature.

Next, Eliot Harper demonstrated XMPie uCreate, a third-party plug-in for InDesign. He showed how to easily create highly personalised documents straight from within InDesign.

Steve Nichols then rounded off the evening by showing how to create eye-catching tables with ease, and demonstrated a few JavaScripts that he had created to automate repetitive tasks within InDesign.

The evening ended with questions and prizes. We will continue to meet on a regular basis and cover topics that are of interest to a broad range of InDesign users. The next user group meeting is tentatively scheduled for February 2005.
