At our last user group meeting, Cari Jansen from Typefi took centre stage and gave us a rundown on XML and InDesign, before Mike McHugh picked up the baton and showed off some great new features in Acrobat 9.

Cari started the evening by showing how easy it is to create an InDesign XML run-in template and how to automate repetitive page-layout steps for template-based jobs with repeating elements. (You can download a copy of her great XML notes at the bottom of this page.) After a brief interval and refill of glasses, Mike showed some powerful new Acrobat features to help identify and rectify PDF issues for print production.

We finished off the evening in our usual fashion with a brief quiz and prizes.
