As our long hot summer winds down, we're set to have a great IDUG meeting covering the challenges and solutions involved in coolly managing long documents in InDesign.
Join us for a variety of InDesign topics related to the creation and completion long documents, including:
• Booked Documents - Using the powerful booking tools in InDesign smartly and safely.
• Indexes and Table of Contents - Save time and avoid frustration when working with TOCs and indexes.
• Text Variables - using text variables within auto numbering paragraphs, whose own paragraphs in turn get used for TOCs
• Automating Document Creation - Templates, style sheets and other techniques for consistency when generating single long docs. Possibly delving into generating custom reports from databases and other sources.
The Bi-monthly File Challenge
Remember to submit your solutions for the File Challenge by emailing a PDF or SWF file showing your completed solution to seattle.idug@gmail.com by September 1st (next Tuesday!). As a reminder, the challenge is to apply interactivity to an existing file created for print; you may interpret 'interactivity' however you wish.
The files are available for download under SIDUG Adventure files at http://www.luminousworks.com/goodies . You will receive a second raffle ticket for participating—we can't wait to see what solutions you come up with.
