Despite the weather, we were treated to another visit by Adobe's Lisa Niday for a ... by popular request ... LightRoom presentation. Thanks to Lisa’s deft presentation, we saw that LightRoom indeed delivers on its promises.
Lightroom is the professional photographer's essential toolbox, providing one easy application for managing, adjusting, and presenting large volumes of digital photographs so you can spend less time in front of the computer and more time behind the lens.
Lightroom is designed to work hand-in-glove with Photoshop; changes made in one application are reflected in the other. The application helps you to perform nondestructive editing, provides support for more than 150 camera raw formats, and lets you experiment with confidence. Adjustments you make to images in Lightroom won’t alter the original data, whether you’re working on a JPEG, TIFF, DNG, or camera raw file.
One of the more compelling aspects of LightRoom power is the ability to electronically “catalog” existing photo archives, and easily add keywords and other metadata to help them conform to your personalized system.
As usual, Lisa's presentation was high-impact and low-key, with ample time for questions and best-practice dialogue.
