October 3, 2007

As usual, Lisa Niday from Adobe “Wowed the Crowd” with her CS3 overview presentation. We were impressed with the way Lisa wove her way through the tightly-integrated and highly-developed Creative Suite offerings. There was awesome “coverage” of every facet, without overwhelming the audience.

Lisa started with the many new features in Adobe Bridge CS3, and how we can save time searching for files along with more-intuitive methods for storing related project documents.

We then moved to InDesign, where there are dozens of productivity enhancements, like placing multiple graphics in a single operation. Also, it is now possible to place InDesign documents within other InDesign documents.

In addition to the new InDesign Panels interface, which includes the option to view a thumbnail of the actual page in the Pages panel, we got a glimpse of the many Photoshop-like effects now within the Effects panel (previously called the Transparency palette).

Thanks to Adobe for their continued support, to the kind folks at UNR for their hospitality, and to Peachpit Press (www.peachpit.com), Mac-O-Rama (www.macorama.com), and Apsiva (www.apsiva.com) for their donations of prizes and refreshments.
