Reno InDesign User Group
Meeting Summary: Practical Powerful PDFs
Thu, Apr 2nd, 2009 at 6:15 PM
The Glenn Group Headquarters (Reno)
Event DetailsOnce again, our good friend Daphne Chin from The Glenn Group (www.theglenngroup.com) extended an invitation to hold our meeting at their headquarters on Washington Street. Nevada's third largest marketing communications firm was recently recognized as one of the "Best Green Buildings" in the Reno News & Review readers poll, and is working to achieve a LEED silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
As promised, Alfred Anheier, Prepress Manager at DynaGraphic Printing, gave us the lowdown on creating PDFs that will give both printers and clients the best chance to create the desired effect without complications or costly delays. He carefully led us through the required settings and available options that will both fine-tune and standardize our output from InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
During our intermission, Jim Cooper (our chairperson) gave us a glimpse at the many emerging uses of interactive PDFs, with a promise to include more How-To info in upcoming meetings.
We concluded with a spirited (pun intended) raffle session, with proceeds earmarked for the Bring Bri Justice foundation.
Thank you
