September's meeting brought in over 35 members wanting to gain more insight into Adobe Stock Photos®. James Alexander, from Adobe, showed us how to easily search and browse photos using the new Adobe Stock Photos service that is accessible via the Adobe Bridge® file browser. Once you find an image you like, you can download a comp and use it in your layouts. Later, you can easily purchase the image from within Adobe Bridge or even the Links palette in InDesign! For even more information on this incredibly easy-to-use service, visit the following link.

Following James' presentation, Gabriel Powell gave us some greater insight into how to harness the power of Adobe Bridge. He demonstrated how to embed metadata into a file and later search for it. He also showed us how much easier it is to drag/drop images and text from an Adobe Bridge window than it is to choose File>Place within InDesign® each time you want to place an asset.
Thanks for the Prizes!
Thanks to Adobe, Peachpit Press, and StockLayouts, people walked away with some great software, books, and training resources.
And Thanks for the Help!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help out with the meeting. This help is very important in making the meeting easier to run and organize. We also thank TOC Management for the great facility, food, and coffee. We're really lucky to have such a great meeting location!
