Portland InDesign User GroupMeeting Notes Archive
March 9, 2006
March's meeting was a great learning opportunity for those who have countless QuarkXPress documents that need to be converted to InDesign. Pariah S. Burke, editor-in-chief and creator of Quark VS InDesign.com, presented the newly released Q2ID plug-in for InDesign. He showed us how to save countless hours of scanning or re-keying and formatting Quark documents.
Q2ID (QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign) offers users a quick and easy way to convert QuarkXPress content into a new Adobe InDesign document. Conversion is enabled with a single click using InDesign's File->Open. The majority of the intricate details of the document are instantly re-created within InDesign. Q2ID can convert QuarkXPress documents created on either the Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh OS, into a new Macintosh Adobe InDesign file.

Thanks for the Prizes!
Thanks to Markzware, Adobe Press, PeachPit Press, and StockLayouts, people walked away with some great software, books, and training resources.
And Thanks for the Help!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help out with the meeting. This help is very important in making the meeting easier to run and organize. We also thank TOC Management for the great facility, food, and coffee. We’re really lucky to have such a great meeting location!
