January's meeting was a perfect start for the new year! We had a great showing of over 30 people who came to learn more about the power of XML and InDesign® CS2. We also had 10 new people register as members!

Gabriel Powell, Adobe Certified Instructor and our chapter chairperson, introduced us to XML and how to use it in InDesign CS2. He began with a solid introduction of XML and how it works. Then he demonstrated how to build an XML-ready template in InDesign. Finally, he showed us how to take XML data from a database and import it into an InDesign template to automate the production of a design, such as for business cards or even a book.

Thanks for the prizes!
Thanks to Adobe Press, Peachpit Press, and StockLayouts, people walked away with some great software, books, and training resources. That brand-new copy of Adobe Acrobat® Professional 7.0 was snapped up quickly.

And thanks for the help!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help out with the meeting. This help is very important in making the meeting easier to run and organize. We also thank TOC Management for the great facility, food, and coffee. We’re really lucky to have such a great meeting location!
