Thanks to Adobe for sending us Lisa Forrester and Colin Fleming! We had a wonderful evening with them learning how to create a streamlined editorial workflow with InDesign® CS2 and InCopy® CS2.
Adobe InCopy CS2 is a professional writing and editing program that integrates closely with InDesign, allowing you to develop a collaborative editorial workflow. In other words, it enables editors and writers to work on parts of pages, spreads, or entire documents at the same time designers are working on them. This brings a whole-new level of efficiency to the editorial process.
We enjoyed watching Colin, an application engineer, take on the role of a designer while Lisa, business development manager, took on the role of an editor. Colin would begin a design, and then create a writing assignment for Lisa. She would then check it out and begin writing while Colin continued to work on the design and create more assignments. As soon as Lisa was finished, Colin was notified and would update his document to reflect the changes she just made. Lisa would also periodically update her document to reflect the design changes that Colin was making. It was very entertaining to watch them joke around while we learned a lot!
