Different Date, Same Venue:
A note from our Chapter Representative

I am teaching a Thursday-evening class for several weeks, which necessitated moving our meeting to a different date for March. I very much appreciate all of your feedback concerning different venues for our group meetings, and I have been investigating some of these leads. However, it turns out that PSU does have one of the nice large windowed rooms available on Tuesday, March 16th, so I've opted to return there for this meeting. We may discuss the pros and cons of this and other possible venues at our next meeting.

Tips and Tricks continue to be one of the most requested meeting topics, yet organizing small tidbits of valuable information into a cohesive presentation can be a challenge. Our chapter representative Paul Erdman will present his own "Top 10 List" of tips and tricks, chosen based on years of desktop publishing, training and consulting experience, in a series of short presentations. A handout with this Top 10 list will also be available. Beginning and experienced users alike are sure to benefit.

Directions and Parking

The Market Square Building is a 10-story office building located downtown at 6th and Market street. PSU leases much of the top floor of this building, including two large windowed rooms with a beautiful view of Portland. Members coming from the Beaverton area can easily get onto Market Street from 26. If you're coming from the South or East, take the 6th-street exit off of 405, then turn left on clay and go around the block to end up on Market Street (no right turn onto Market is permitted).

Parking is available in the base of the Market Square building. Entrance to the parking garage is on Market Street. The price is $4 for the evening. Also, the doors in the parking garage to the elevators are unlocked until sometime between 6:00-6:20, so you may be able to access the elevators without going round to the front door of the building. You may also be able to exit the elevators at the second-floor parkng level, rather than down in the main lobbies, as it is possible to exit through the locked doors (but not enter).
