With some personal holidays, festive seasons, and busy work schedule, the meeting summary write-up from our 1 December 2009 meeting is a little later than usual.
The InDesign Trivia night on the 1st December was very well received by the members. During two fun-filled sessions, Cari Jansen provided a myriad of InDesign tips and tricks across the entire application.
From building up a Swatches panel full of colours sourced from a Photoshop file, to swapping colour images in a job to monos, building a rounded cornered table, an introduction to using scripts in InDesign (and where to find them) for sorting not only paragraphs in alphabetical order but also table columns and much more...
As a follow-up from our previous meeting in September, where the CEO of Typefi Systems spoke on Accessibility, Cari demonstrated the very cool (and free) Typefi AutoFit plug-in for InDesign.
The first tips/tricks are starting to appear as tutorials on Cari’s website, so be sure to take a look at her latest posts on www.carijansen.com and the plug-in can be downloaded from www.typefi.com
Once again, there was a fantastic atmosphere. Thank you to all you made it such a great evening!

Looking for more Sponsors:
We are always looking for more sponsors. From January 2010, Edith Cowan University will only partially sponsor the venue, which means we’re looking for a financial sponsor to help us cover the cost of our excellent venue in the future. Product sponsors also welcome (can your company provide free note-pads? Or pens?), as are prize sponsors (software books, memberships, caps, gadgets etc.).
If you’re working for a company who’s keen to be a sponsor (even if just for one evening), please contact perth@indesignusergroup.com .
