Template Mastering...

Our end-of-September meeting, in which we looked at InDesign best practices for template creation, was a great success. Not only did we cover some of the basic tips and tricks for template creations, but Cari also demoed and discussed some killer tips and techniques that ensure us that templates can't be reused for only one type of project, but for many varying publishing projects, turning InDesign into a productivity machine.

Master pages are no longer magical pages that do mysterious things -- they power our base designs, while styles of all sorts (Character, paragraph, object, table of contents and more) further fuel our InDesign template's power.

Thank you

Our meetings would not be possible without the generous continued support of our speakers, sponsors and volunteers.

A big thank you also once again to User Group Member Lynne for helping out with the room clean-up at the end of the meeting.

Comments from attendees

Post-event attendee feedback, as always, was great. Many people commented on 'taking their templates to the next level' after the meeting, and picking up 'valuable new tips and tricks'.

Unfortunately, we forgot to bring our evaluation forms this time around, so no direct quotes (sorry!!)

Next Meeting

Our next meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 7. If you've been following the news on what's happening in the publishing world, the words "EPUB, EBook and digital magazines" are big favorites... So be sure to reserve December 7 in your diary, as we'll be taking a peak at digital publishing from InDesign.

Keep an eye out in your email box for the meeting invite in the coming week, so you can be amongst the first to register for this event.

I look forward to seeing you all again at the start of December, for our pre-Christmas meeting.

Warm Regards,

Cari Jansen
