The second 2007 meeting of the Orlando InDesign User Group was held on Tuesday, February 27. We welcomed over 90 people into the Orlando Sentinel Media Center, a number that included 30 first-time attendees!

Our presenter was the illustrious Noha Edell of Adobe, whom we were most fortunate to get as a return speaker. Noha walked us through practical examples of the intuitive and sophisticated page-layout environment of InDesign. Noha’s comedic flair kept everyone involved and enthralled with the information throughout an hour and a half’s worth of detailed information on transparency, file import, styles, and anchored objects.

Noha demonstrated mapping Word styles to InDesign styles on import, something that generated multiple questions from the audience. Members also specifically wanted more details on the layer options portion of the presentation, as well as the export to PDF and preflight information.

Based on the feedback we received, Noha’s presentation was very timely and memorable, and may have even generated some InDesign converts! Some comments included:

The evening concluded with another great raffle, which included a surprise extra raffle of InDesign CS 2.0 from the survey sheets.
