Tuesday, August 8, 2006

Despite the dog days of summer, over 100 dedicated InDesign users came out on August 8th for the latest meeting of the NYC IDUG.

First up was color management expert and co-author of Real World Color Management, Chris Murphy. Chris used the time to explain some of the basic concepts of maintaining consistent color across the Creative Suite. Based on the response that night, Chris is now working to put together two half-day color management seminars in early October. Because the details have yet to be worked out, please contact Chris directly for more information at chris@colorremedies.com.

Following Chris was Tad Shelby of Logitech, who demoed the amazing NuLOOQ navigator. The NuLOOQ is a sophisticated yet simple input device that integrates nicely with many applications, including the Creative Suite. For more info please visit their website.

Our last speaker was Chris Jones of Triple Triangle. Chris, a former InDesign software engineer, showcased their very popular and powerful InDesign and Illustrator plug-in, Mechanical Cubed. If producing complicated mechanicals is part of your routine, you'll want to download the Mechanical Cubed demo.
