Once again I'm excited to bring to two very special guests to New York. Here's the skinny:
An Introduction to Web Design in Print Designer's Terms
Join web developer and Adobe Certified Instructor James Conway for an introduction to web design that print designers will actually enjoy. See a print page and a matching web page created at the same time with the tools and techniques discussed in print design terms not web developer jargon. After looking at how a proper web page is made, we will discuss the options available to get a layout from InDesign to a web page using Adobe's cross-media technology.
James Conway is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver. He owns C2 Graphics Productivity Solutions, an Adobe Certified Training Center in Wisconsin. With a strong background in pre-press, he managed one of the first digital imaging bureaus in Milwaukee from 1991-1996 before focusing on photography, database-driven catalog production, web design and software training for the last 12 years.
Following James, I again have the privilege of presenting Adobe Certified Expert and author Gabriel Powell.
Learn to Build a Page Production Machine
What do Layout Adjustment, the Running Header text variable, a section marker, spreadsheets, and Data Merge all have in common? They are just a handful of InDesign tools that can be combined together to create a powerful page production machine. Join us and learn how these five tools can work together to automate the production of a product catalog. Gabriel Powell, an Adobe Certified Instructor, will walk you through the entire process, from planning to producing the catalog.
Gabriel is the author of the newly published book, Instant InDesign: Designing Templates for Fast and Efficient Page Layout. Gabriel is also the Training Director for Metafusion Training and the founder of both the Portland and Amsterdam InDesign User Groups.
A limited supply of discounted copies of Instant InDesign will be available for purchase at the meeting. If you already own a copy, be sure to bring it so Gabriel can sign it.
