New York City InDesign User Group

SHOW AND TELL: AN EVENING OF DIVINE INSPIRATION Over the years many of you have asked to see more of how designers use InDesign to create inspiring works of art. In answer to these requests, I'm excited to announce that the next meeting of the NY IDUG is entitled, "Show and Tell: An Evening of Divine Inspiration." Here's how it will work: 1) All NY IDUG members are encouraged to submit works of art as part of the event. 2) All artwork must be at least partly created using some version of Adobe InDesign. Other apps can be part of the process, but remember this is an InDesign User Group! 3) All designers must be willing to address the group and talk briefly about how they created their work. If working with a team, the presenter must be the creative hub of such a team. 4) Native files must be shown at the presentation; PDFs are great but we want everyone to see how your files were constructed. 5) Approval to present will be on a first-come, first-served basis. To be considered as a presenter send an email to newyorkcity@indesignusergroup.com. In the email tell me what you'd like to present, why you think others will find it of interest, and include a PDF sample of the work. Assuming your submission meets the proper criteria, I will send you back a written confirmation of acceptance. 6) Once we have what I feel to be an adequate number of presenters, I will notify each presenter of how much time each will be given to present their work. 7) At the end of the evening a vote will be taken among the attendees and an award will be given for the best of show. The winner will receive a free copy of the powerful Plug-In Suite 3 software (Mac/Win) for Photoshop (list price $399.95), courtesy of Mike Wong and onOne Software. 8) Deadline for submissions will be 6pm EST, September 25, 2007.
