Event Details80 members turned out on November 11 to see several demonstrations of useful software at the most recent meeting of the New York InDesign User Group. The headline attraction was Steve Forde, CEO of GridIron Software, who demonstrated his company's amazing product, Flow. The hit of the past two Macworlds, Flow is your behind-the-scenes solution to tracking files and their relationships to other assets. Following Flow was Peter McClard, CEO of GLUON Software. Peter, a longtime friend of the NY IDUG, did quick demos of GLUON's InDesign plug-ins including Cropster, Slugger, Colorbreaker, and ProScale.
Last up was NY Chapter Rep, Scott Citron. Scott demoed Template Master from FoldRite (not without a few problems; see below for an online demo), Smart Image from WoodWing Software, and PDF2ID by Recosoft.
Apologies for the glitches with my FoldRite demo. Fortunately, there is an excellent recording for it which takes you through Template Master and shows the update template feature when applying a template to a legacy file. There's also a brief tour of foldfactory. The demo is only 8.5 minutes long. Below is a link to the page. When you play the video, there's a small square icon in the lower right corner of the player to have the video play full-screen. There's also a volume adjustment in the lower right.
