Thursday, August 18, 2005

Sixty InDesign® users gathered in the auditorium at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design for our August meeting. The Foundation once again graciously underwrote the cost of the room at MCAD. After a few brief announcements, chapter rep Keith Gilbert introduced Chris Jones, director of product management for Triple Triangle. Chris demonstrated and explained benefits of Triple Triangle's products, specifically Color Spec Cubed and Mechanical Cubed. Chris's presentation garnered lots of interest and questions from the audience of both designers and prepress people.

Following a short break, it was time for "Quiz the Whizzes", a 45-minute question and answer session. InDesign questions were solicited and answered by Charlie Townes, Keith Gilbert, and InDesign users in the audience. Many of the questions led to lively discussion about the merits of various InDesign features.

The evening wrapped up with door prizes: 2 full versions of the Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium donated by Adobe, 3 books donated by Peachpit Press, and 4 two-button mice donated by Central Coast Solutions. Nine people went home happy winners.
