Minneapolis InDesign User Group

Meeting Notes Archive

Wednesday, April 27, 2005

Over 70 people showed up for the April 27 meeting of the Twin Cities InDesign user group at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. The topic for the evening was “What's New in InDesign CS2?”

After a few brief member announcements, a trifecta of local training consultants demonstrated their favorite InDesign CS2 features. First up was Peter Gold, who discussed some of the long document features of InDesign. Next, Charlie Townes demonstrated Object Styles, manipulation of layers in PSD and PDF files, and the “Transform Again” features. Last, batting cleanup was Keith Gilbert, who demonstrated drag and drop text editing, spell check improvements, autocorrect, quick apply of styles, the apply next style command, the Adobe Bridge, Snippets, and numerous small new features added to CS2.

Throughout the evening, audience interaction with the speakers was encouraged. The evening wrapped up with a question and answer session, and nine lucky winners walked away with door prizes.
