Twin Cities InDesign User Group

Our first meeting of 2009 will have something for everyone: We’ll be talking about cross references, software licensing, and how to move content from one InDesign file to another.

First up will be Peter Gold, (knowhowpro.com) a local InDesign and Framemaker trainer who will explain the ins and outs of cross-references in both InDesign CS3 and CS4. He will show both how and why you would want to use cross-references, as well as how they function in PDF files.

Next will be a brief presentation by Paul Bradley (softwareone.com) on the benefits of software volume licensing, and how it works specifically with Adobe products.

Then Keith Gilbert (gilbertconsulting.com) will explain the pros and cons of six different ways to move text and images from one InDesign file and reuse that content in another InDesign project. Copy and Paste, Move Pages, Libraries, Snippets and placed PDF and InDesign files will be discussed. Most of the concepts and commands in this presentation will apply equally to CS2, CS3 and CS4.

The evening will conclude with drawings for some fantastic prizes. We always have fantastic giveaways at our meetings, but this time our cupboards are bursting with geeky treasure to give away! Don’t miss this one!
