It's all about the TEXT!
When was the last time you created an InDesign document that didn't contain text? Exactly...text is a common element in almost every InDesign project, so you better be good at selecting, formatting and manipulating text! With that in mind, TEXT is the theme of the first quarter 2008 meeting of the Twin Cities Indesign User Group. Be sure to register and attend!
Topic 1: Are you often faced with creating a list? With numbers or symbols? Needing to adjust the space but don’t know how or where? InDesign includes an automatic bulleted list feature. Maria Rogers will show three ways to build a bullet or numbered list. Maria is a graphics software enthusiast, curriculum developer and trainer for businesses in the graphic industry.
Topic 2: Brian Arnell, a Production Artist at Tad Ware & Co. will share his most frequently used keyboard shortcuts and techniques for navigating and selecting text in InDesign to maximize proficiency and meet tight deadlines.
Topic 3: Keith Gilbert, a local instructor and consultant, will discuss spell checking and hyphenating using custom dictionaries that can be shared by multiple users. If time allows, he will also demonstrate two esoteric-but-useful InDesign features: the "non-joiner" and "discretionary line break" characters.
The meeting will conclude with prize drawings for Adobe software and other goodies. Don't miss this one!
