September 18, 2007
Approximately 50 InDesign enthusiasts gathered on September 18th for the season opener of the Milwaukee InDesign User Group.
The pregame show included a welcome and introductions by Dean Flowers, Associate Dean, Graphics Technologies, Waukesha County Technical College. Then, creative director Paul Rogers, Trek Bicycle, Inc., kicked of the festivities with a “case history” describing how the Creative Suite is an essential part of Trek’s ongoing integrated marketing. In the next play, prepress guru James Wamser, Sells Printing, offered a “prepress puzzler,” demonstrating, among other things, how to define and use rich black. During halftime, attendees were rehydrated, and enjoyed brownies with an extra dose of chocolate. Afterwards, James Fritz, C2 Graphics Productivity Solutions, showed how to adjust hyphenation settings.
The meeting concluded with door prizes and a raffle. Attendees offered these post-game commentaries:
“Paul from Trek was interesting. His use of CS3 applications working seamlessly to create great print is fascinating!”
“Meeting people was nice. It was quite informative. The brownies were also good!”
“Fritz was awesomeit’s the little things like these that make a designer great. They’re better than drop shadows.”
“Give James Wamser more time. The prepress tips were certainly worthwhile.”
