Fritz is a great presenter.
Madison Media Institute
Event DetailsIDUG Madison is back and going strong! We had a great turnout for our first meeting of the new year, where we were once again graced by the presence of our good friend and software guru James Fritz.
Fritz took us on a fun "test drive" of the soon-to-be-released Adobe program Muse! He showed us how quickly and easily a print designer can put together a website design without knowing any code. Muse is set up similarly to InDesign so it provides a familar work enviroment for print designers. Images are placed into the document, a color fill or stroke can be applied to objects, you can even build and use Paragraph, Character, and Object Styles! No coding is required!
Fritz pointed out that not only is Muse easy to use, it's also a great way to make a prototype, or to take care of the front-end design of a website. He completed the setup and building process by showing us how to publish using (also soon-to-be-released) Adobe Business Catalyst.
Great prizes were given away including several 1-month passes to lynda.com, webinars with Pariah Burke, O'Reilly books, and a copy of Dreamweaver CS 5.5.
Our next meeting will be in early April, when Kevin Stohlmeyer of C2 will introduce us to Adobe Touch Apps.
Don't forget to check out your member benefits on indesignusergroup.com. IDUG members have discounts available on Adobe software, lynda.com training, O'Reilly books and much, much more.

"Very informative, especially the part about what Muse is and is not." — Mary K.
"I appreciate that he emphasizes what is a more efficient technique as oppossed to a method that may be a waste of time. Looking forward to watching his lynda.com!" — Karla M.
