Our first-ever daylong event was a huge success. An overwhelming number of the 50+ attendees were first-time attendees. Our chapter has grown to over 400 members since its inception!
The day passed quickly, learning about Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. We were pleased to have Derek Smith give an inspiring keynote address. Feedback included comments like: “Derek Smith was an EXCELLENT speaker and so well informed. He was a wealth of knowledge and his thoughts on sustainability are truly insightful.”
Noha Edell kept an entire room captivated with her knowledge of InDesign. “Noha’s knowledge of InDesign is wide, varied, and wonderful.” If you attended the conference and want to review some of the subjects covered, email me (Deb) for a link to those materials.
Cate Indiano, owner of DesktopMedia, wowed everyone who attended her sessions on Acrobat 9. Several attendees asked that she repeat and expand on her Acrobat instruction.
Kevin Raber shared his expansive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Attendees were able to learn more about adjusting color, using levels and curves; demonstration of HDR; JPEG vs TIFF; adjusting images; how to work with RAW images; and much more. An attendee commented, “Good info -- cool tricks...”
Illustrator was covered by Jay Bilunas. Attendees found his presentation very helpful. “I could have spent all day learning about Illustrator” was only one comment from our evaluation forms.
We concluded the day with door prizes, which included one lucky attendee going home with a copy of Adobe Creative Suite CS3, and cake to celebrate InDesign’s 10th birthday.
