Event DetailsLe 26 november s’est tenue la première réunion du Geneva InDesign User Group au Warwick Hotel de Genève. 47 participants ont assisté à cette réunion dont le thème était: “InDesign , trucs et astuces”. Ce fut un évènement tout à fait réussi et je souhaite profiter de cette occasion pour remercier la direction de l’Hôtel Warwick pour leur généreux support.
Un cocktail de bienvenu, offert par Typerfi Systems, permit aux participants de se rencontrer et d’échanger.
Mes remerciements vont aussi à l’endroit des 2 conférenciers qui ont largement contribué au succès de cette rencontre: Yves Chatain venu de Nantes - France, et Cari Jansen venue d’Australie.
Durant la première partie de ce meeting, Yves nous fit découvrir des trucs et astuces très précieux qu’il considère comme sous utilisés et pourtant bien utiles. Une pause de 15 minutes a suivi cette cession. Ce fut l’occasion de déguster le délicieux gâteau au chocolat gracieusement offert par Adobe System pour célébrer du 10ème anniversaire d’InDesign.
L’assistance de Cari fut un élément important au succès de cet évènement inaugural, notamment dans la phase de préparation. La réunion se termina avec une remise de prix. Un heureux gagnant reçu le dernier CS4 Design Premium Package. Deux abonnements de un an au Magazine d’InDesign furent aussi distribués.

November 26 marked the successful inaugural meeting of the Geneva InDesign User Group, 47 members attended the meeting. The meeting theme was titled “InDesign tools - tips and tricks,” and the event was held at the Warwick Hotel in Geneva. Great venue! I would like to take this opportunity to thank the management of the Warwick Hotel for their support.
During the half hour of meet-and-greet, the members enjoyed the alcohol-free cocktail offered by Typefi Systems.
My thanks also go to our two guest speakers who contributed to this success – Yves Chatain who came all the way from Nantes, France for this event and Cari Jansen who was visiting from Australia.
During the 1st part of this meeting Yves showed us a wealth of tips and tricks of InDesign which he thinks are under-used and gave us some interesting background information. We had a break of 15minutes – time to enjoy the delicious chocolate cake offered by Adobe Systems to celebrate the 10th anniversary of InDesign.
Cari Jansen was an important element for the success of the inaugural event, as she walked me through the different steps to setup the meeting. The meeting ended with fantastic prize giveaways. One lucky member was the recipient of the CS4 Design Premium package. Two 1-year subscriptions to InDesign Magazine were also distributed.
