Event Details
Over 65 people came to see Jim Maivald present the magic of XML! He certainly did not disappoint and had everyone on the edge of their seats to see the possible uses of XML in an InDesign workflow.
Jim, author of “A Designer’s Guide to Adobe InDesign and XML” from Adobe Press, demonstrated how to get the most out of InDesign’s powerful XML features and capabilities including how to repurpose print documents effortlessly to the Web. His presentation is available for download at the bottom of this page.
We wrapped up the evening with our usual raffle of great prizes. David Blatner (www.indesignsecrets.com) donated a couple InDesign CS3 Keyboard Shortcut posters and a subscription to InDesign magazine; books from O'Reilly, Peachpit Press, Adobe Press; KW Media for some subscriptions to Layers Magazine; and Adobe for magnets, t-shirts, InCopy DVDs/books and the CS3 Design Premium.
Our next newsletter will be published early June. If you have any events, job openings, reviews or resources to contribute, please send to dgniewek@schoolcraft.edu by May 28. I would especially be interested in a review of Jim’s XML book that so many of you purchased at the meeting. Thank YouContinued thanks to Schoolcraft College (vistatech.schoolcraft.edu) for the meeting space, food and hospitality; and students from the Computer Graphics Technology program (www.schoolcraft.edu) who assisted with event support including registration and advertising.
