Our August meeting covered preparing files for print and learning about transparency. Chapter representative Brian Cupp thanked everyone for coming to the meeting.

The meeting had four printers from the Des Moines area to present “Preparing Files for Print and Learning About Transparency.” Sara Hougland from Purcell Printing talked about the top 10 list of things that can and do go wrong. She gave tips on how to find and fix these problems. John Yeager from ColorFX Marketing presented working with Illustrator® and InDesign®. Jack Zoani from The Printer Inc. explained some great information about Photoshop®. Brian Cupp explained several points on using InDesign to produce print-ready files.

Several questions were asked during the presentation, and each one of the presenters gave his or her input on the questions. It was a great meeting for those who attended.

The evening concluded with a huge raffle — prizes ranged from books, DVD training, and BarcodeMaker to a copy of InDesign CS2. Our thanks to the sponsors for providing the raffle prizes and for their special discounts to our members. Check out the member benefits in the "Member Area" of this website for great deals on books and training and many other great deals. Our sponsors for the meeting were:
