Excellent! Great info. The "real" job samples he brought & showed us were great to see how xml could be used in practical situations.

Our meeting was sponsored by xpedx who brought in sandwiches from Gateway Market and drinks.
Our Chapter Rep, Brian Cupp, informed everyone about Adobe Stock Photos being discontinued. You can still search images through March 3, 2008 and final purchases must be made by March 31,2008.
Joanne Isenhart from xpedx talked briefly about the PANTONE Goe™ System (pronounced Go). She mentioned the numerous benefits designers and printers will have with PANTONE Goe™ and that it is not a replacement for the PANTONE Matching System® but that they are meant to complement each other.
Our main presenter for the night was Jim Maivald, author of "A Designer's Guide to Adobe InDesign and XML" from Adobe Press and the leader of the Chicago InDesign User Group. Jim demonstrated several "real" world examples of how to use XML to produce items from business cards, maps, and postcards to catalogs. His in-depth knowledge of XML shows through in his presentation. If you have not seen Jim present, you should at some point in your life.
All in all it was a great meeting with 52 people in attendance.
