Event Details

Fifty people attended our "InDesign Effects that Wow!" meeting on Tuesday, September 15th. April and Pat demonstrated cool effects that can be created within Adobe InDesign, such as duotones (using luminosity), reflections, and many text effects.

Most of the effects were outlined step-by-step in the August/September 2009 issue of InDesign Magazine. Thanks to the authors, including Diane Burns, Mike Rankin, Mike McHugh, David Blatner, and Ted LoCascio. And thank you to Terri Stone, the editor of InDesign Magazine, who gave us permission to demonstrate these effects in our meeting.

April also reviewed how to export an InDesign file to SWF while including the Interactive Page Curl feature.

The meeting started with five trivia questions. One of the questions included the fact that InDesign 1.0 was released ten years ago on August 31, 1999. Happy Birthday, InDesign!

We pay attention to all comments. A couple people mentioned they thought the intro went long (in addition to the trivia, we discussed InDesign User Group benefits and upcoming classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art). Also, it was mentioned the topic was not very advanced.

We are planning for a more advanced topic in November.
