Meeting Summary: NJ InDesign User Group: Long Documents
Tue, Jul 28th, 2009 at 6:30 PM
Anthem Institute
Event DetailsSo the summer is half over and we all feel like drowned rats… but thanks to Noha Edell we found a topic to keep our heads above water. It's amazing — Noha always makes it look so easy, and to be honest it is — she just showed us how to do it. (That’s where the good presenters come in.)
Handling long form is the backbone of InDesign. Though the Book feature has been kicking around InDesign for some time, and in Quark for even longer, Noha brought it into the future, synchronizing style sheets, object styles and page numbers, creating Book Definitions, and synching up GREP styles (CS4). We played with Table styles and Conditional Text (CS4). She showed TOC, Index, and Live Preflight (CS4). I swear, I don’t know how she manages to cram it all in.
Pizza was delicious as always and the raffle once again a great success. Subscriptions to InDesign Magazine, and The New York Seminar for InDesign were just two of the great prizes raffled away. New software went to Colleen McKay Wharton. The InDesign Seminar winner was Ken Ruiz, and the year's subscription for InDesign Magazine went to Al Raite.
Thank you
Thank you once again to Noha Edell. We love whenever she has the time to come in and share with us these new and great achievements Creative Suite has to offer.
Of course our hat goes off to Anthem Institute for providing an excellent venue.
Thank you once again to all the members of the NJ InDesign User Group. It has been over a year and we continue to grow in size. Keep it up...tell your friends...
