Thanks for putting my head in the cloud!

Event DetailsAll I can say is Wow! What a great event. We had a great turnout...I attribute most of the success to our star presenter Noha Edell (Adobe Solutions Consultant), with Alison Cattelona (also Adobe Solution Consultant) filling in the juicy bits. We had many professionals on hand very thirsty for what was new with InDesign CS6 and Creative Cloud.
I have to say it was a flawless presentation. Noha started off with some of the new and wonderful opportunities to be had with Adobe's Creative Cloud. She discussed not only the stalwarts of Adobe i.e. InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (to name a few) but also Muse and Edge, and Touch Apps for tablets. She also let us in on the fact that for existing users of CS3, 4 and 5, Creative Cloud comes at a cost of $29 a month. Pretty flipping great.
Noha then jumped into InDesign CS6. She started with the Container Tool, then went to the Page tool with Liquid Layouts and Linked text. She remind us of why we love Style sheets so much and how useful they can be. We discussed the updated Pages panel with multiple views of various layouts along with some of the new document properties.
Though we covered DPS in a previous session, Noha reminded us of how quickly we can create the beautiful interactive publications with some of the new features and NOW with the multiple views, we can create both horizontal and vertical layouts within one document. To add to this by using the Liquid layout, one can easily transform the V-Layout to the H-Layout with very little adjusting.
It was a lot to take in.
Alison helped with many of the advanced features as well. One of the topics that stirred a lot of interest and questions was Adobe's new Typekit (Adobe's very own web based font library). We discussed how they were used and how easy they were to access using Adobe Muse.
Whew!
Since this was our very own CS6 Launch party, with a little aid from Adobe, we had swag to share, as well as a beautiful ID logo embossed cake (thanks Al for picking that up).
We had a great response to our raffle (always help to cover expenses) and Adobe graciously offered the entire CS6 Design-Web Premium package.
First of all here is a great applause to Noha Edell(Adobe Solutions Consultant) for a sterling presentation.
To Alison Cattelona (Adobe Solution Consultant) for answering many of the tech questions and offering interesting insight.
To Anthem Institute, without which we would not have a home.
