Event DetailsBrisbane InDesign User Group said farewell to 2008 with a bang!!! The new Adobe CS4! We had many new members who travelled very far afield from Noosa, and the northern surrounding areas and south from Lismore and Byron Bay. A good 2 hour trip either way (very enthusiastic members to say the least).
After everyone finished with the drinks and snacks, it was down to learning about the new and improved features, thanks to Stephen Nichols from Adobe Sydney, for all the different applications in the the CS4 Suite. There were many questions about the latest features in other applications other than InDesign (yes they were shown, but everything leads to and from InDesign), but many of the people could see the added benefits of leaving the office a little earlier because of their upgrade to CS4. I won't mention all the new features as there are too many and everyone has written and reviewed them already, but suffice it to say that everyone wanted the grand prize for the night.
Our major winners of the great prizes were Pamela Blake and Giuletta Melissari. A huge thank you to all our sponsors, without whose support these nights are not possible, so a huge thanks as always to Adobe, Aquent, Colourwise, MBE Stones Corner, Fuji Xerox, Design College Australia, Peachpit, Layers Magazine, Rorohiko and O' Reilly. Also a huge thank you to all the volunteers who have helped out this year with setting up and cleaning up. Thank you Karen, Alison, Tim, Michael, Iain, Lana, Clint, Craig and Cheryl.
Hope to see all of you next year as we already have great presentations starting to be organised. So have a great Christmas and New Year.

Keep an eye out for the next meeting in Early February. Cheryl Zwart is showing us everything about styles in InDesign. Also note the new venue at 200 Barry Parade, Fortitude Valley.
