September 26, 2005
This month's Boston InDesign® user group meeting highlighted a local InDesign success. "Easy Does It with InDesign the Staples Success Story” was a fascinating look at how Staples prominent and complex catalog process has been streamlined since transitioning to InDesign.
Luis Mendes, Catalog Production Manager for Staples, outlined the real-world features of InDesign that help get Staples catalogs published accurately and on-time. Chris Smith, from American Graphics Institute, moderated the discussion and raffled off copies of his most recent publication Adobe Creative Suite 2 for Dummies.
After a loud round of applause, Luis and Chris fielded insightful questions from the audience. Good fun, good food and good facts were shared by all!.
What the attendees had to say…
“Speakers were very articulate and knowledgeable. I didn’t know InDesign was used for such high volume jobs.”
“Very organized. Good that different members of Staples came to relate their input into the conversion.”
“Great info on practical use of software and use of scripting.”
“Fantastic Presentation. Very advanced overview of the power of InDesign.”
“It is nice to see such a focus group for this relatively new product. The info presented was persuasive and inspiring in that I want to learn InDesign that much quicker.”
“The presentation was very clear and complete. It was especially helpful to have a creative team to answer questions.”
