Meeting details

We are all familiar with PDFs. We use them everyday. Whether we're sending a job to a print service provider or a proof to a client, pdf format will keep the design looking the way we intended. Interactive PDFs are the next step in the evolution chain of PDF.

Our May 8th meeting will be about Interactive PDFs. Our presenter, Noha Edell of Adobe Systems, will demonstrate how to create Interactive PDFs from within InDesign. This includes navigation items such as hyperlinks, buttons, and rollovers. Ever want to add sound or video to a PDF? You can do it -- right within InDesign!

Noha’s presentation will include:
- Adding hyperlinks in InDesign
- Making buttons and rollovers in InDesign
- Using master pages to control navigation in InDesign
- Adding video in InDesign
- How to automatically generate bookmarks In Acrobat

Accessibility
Additionally, Andrew Kirkpatrick of Adobe Systems will join us to talk about accessibility in PDFs. Section 508 requires that Federal agencies’ electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities We'll cover how you can use InDesign and other CS3 products to make content that is Section-508-compliant.

Bring a few dollars for the raffle and as always we'll have pizza.

Finding the MassArt Parking Lot
======================================
Free parking is available for this meeting, there is no school that night!

The entrance to the MassArt lot is from Ward St. (It is not accessible from Huntington Ave.).

Coming from Boston on Huntington, you'd want to take a left onto Parker, cross Ruggles, and take a right on to Ward.

Coming inbound on Huntington from Brookline, you'd want to take a right onto Ruggles, a right onto Parker and then a right on Ward. The parking lot entrance is about 1/2 way up Ward on the right.

If you're coming from Brookline, you can also take a right on St. Alphonsos St, take an immediate left (as if you are going back out to Huntington), and then a right onto Ward.
