InDesign and Flash – The Digital Transition

Because of the increasing desire for digital media, traditional print designers have been challenged to extend their skills into this emerging realm. With CS4, Adobe has given us better tools for bridging the gap between print and interactive design. So don’t miss your chance to learn more about them.

The meeting will begin with Paul Olmeda demonstrating some workflow techniques and best practices when designing in InDesign for the intent of continuing into Flash design. He will set up a design that Chris Stalcup will then take to the next level using Flash CS4. While presenting, Chris will also go over some basic workflow techniques and the workspace for Flash. Then he’ll show us some simple and fun things you can do with Flash effects to give your designs that extra punch. If time permits, he’ll show some examples of more advanced Flash design. Don’t worry if you haven’t upgraded yet. With some exceptions, Paul and Chris will go over a lot of things that can be adapted for use with older versions of InDesign and Flash.
