September's meeting marked our seventh meeting already! Although many of our members were still on vacation, a great group of people still managed to join us to learn more about the amazing InDesign plug-ins provided by WoodWing Software.

We were privileged to have Maarten van Kleinwee (Senior Technical Writer at WoodWing Software) as our guest speaker. After introducing himself and telling us more about WoodWing Software, Maarten demonstrated the amazing power and flexibility of Smart Styles and Smart Layout. After the break, Maarten demonstrated Smart Image and the newest version of Smart Catalog. Here's a description of each plug-in:

Smart Styles

Repetitive tasks become fun with WoodWing’s Smart Styles for Adobe InDesign. Intelligent Smart Styles let you format complex tables, texts and other objects quickly with a single click. Table sorting and calculations are also included in this feature-rich plugin.

Smart Layout

Smart Layout is indispensable for any newspaper and magazine designer, working with multiple columns of text and images. Complex, awkward layouts become easy-to-handle Articles with intelligent behavior. Improve your productivity now!

Smart Catalog

Catalog production is all about being up-to-date, on time and efficient! Use Smart Catalog to produce your catalogs, price lists, and brochures automatically in Adobe InDesign. Updating your documents becomes child’s play!

Smart Image

WoodWing’s Smart Image plugin for Adobe InDesign helps you to quickly place images with a description, by automatically adding caption and credit text frames to the image.

During our raffle, we gave away some great prizes including several plug-ins from WoodWing, a copy of Instant InDesign, a copy of Learn Adobe Photoshop CS4 by Video, and of course a copy of Adobe InDesign CS4.
